What I thought would take me several hours has actually taken only about an hour. I found the site with the visual flash editor. You can create a flash object, save it to the sprout site, then publish it to yours. I still can’t believe how complex the editor is for being in a web browser. It’s just frustrating to use the editor when you’re used to clicking the right mouse button, as the interface is completely in Flash.
The intro I made was simple, but effective. The most time consuming part was figuring out how to hide the Sprout advertising footer that appears at the bottom of every Flash object you make on the Sprout site. There’s no way to disable it in the embedded code so I ended up hiding it with an absolutely positioned div box of the same color as the background. This is probably against Sprout’s TOS, but I doubt if they check each site where every Sprout is posted. I also made sure to place a non-Flash “enter” link below the Flash object to allow those without Flash Player to still enter the site.
